Huntington State Park, SC

We were down visiting friends at North Myrtle Beach, and then went camping for a few days at Huntington State Park. This was painted from the causeway with egrets looking back at us from the trees. 9" x 12" oil on canvas, framed $200.

Franklin Cliffs, Skyline Drive, VA

Painted this two weeks ago when my husband and I camped at Lewis Mountain on Skyline Drive. He then hiked from the campgrounds to this stop, nine miles away. The distant mountain is Massanutton with the gap between, great spot for painting! 12" x 36" oil on canvas, framed $475.

Jarmans Gap View, Crozet

Spontaneous painting two evenings ago with Isabelle and Julia. This is the open field across from my house on Jarmans Gap Rd. The field had been let go and was gorgeous with the fall colors of ironweed, wingstem, and wild grasses. Funny thing is, they came THAT evening and cut it all down and are baling it today! We caught it just in time, that is the beauty of plein air painting. 16" x 40" oil on canvas, framed $800. Will be taking this and many other paintings up to Wintergreen's Labor Day Festival for Saturday and Sunday. Come up if you can!

Old Rag, From Pinnacle Overlook, Skyline Drive

Grace Estates Winery, White Hall, VA


Two recent paintings from Grace Estates Winery, the top painting is a birthday gift to the owners, being delivered in person to Switzerland! The bottom one is available . . . often folks ask me how my paintings are framed. Virginia cherry wood, rough cut from Augusta Lumber that my husband and I rip, plain, sand and stain to make our simple frames. 8" x 10" oil on canvas, framed  $150.

Buck Hollow Overlook, Skyline Drive, Above Sperryville, VA

Craigsville, Virginia

A garden, barn and lots of sheds near the road north of Craigsville on Route 42. I painted this after I dropped off paintings to the Bath County Art Show two weekends ago. Next time I will paint the house with more sheds and building around it. I love trying to figure out the order of which they where build and for what purpose. 12" x 36" oil on canvas, framed  $475.

If you know Blue Grass Valley in Highland County, you will know this mill that is being renovated this year and will be fabulous once it is complete. Ginseng House, Highland County, VA

Painted this at the Highland County Paint Out this past weekend with a dozen painters. This was a farm house on Ginseng Mountain Lane in Blue Grass, 11" x 14" oil on canvas, framed $250.

Blue Ridge Overlook, Wintergreen, VA

A commission for Mary and Tom, at the top of Wintergreen looking at Three Ridges from the Blue Ridge Overlook. (I want to do a 30" x 60" sometime to get the longer view there, maybe this fall!) This painting is 36" x 48", oil on canvas, framed. Will be delivered at the 4th of July Art Festival, so come out and see the fireworks! The show runs each day from the 4th through the 6th!

I went to Art Camp for grown-ups two weeks ago and had such fun with 12 other ladies staying at http://www.campmontshenandoah.com/ a girls camp that for 20 years, has opened their arms to artists for a weekend before the counselors and girls come . . . and they feed us too! Fun staying in a screened in cabin, in bunk beds! . . . 24" x 36" oil on canvas framed, $950, SOLD

Downstream, Jackson River, Clifton Forge, VA

Went last weekend to camp and paint with my friend Elizabeth Sauder http://www.elizabethsauder.com/ on the Jackson River at Clay & Mary's property . . . thanks guys! This is the view looking downstream from their bridge. We got stuck in a mud ditch, twice . . . had to be pulled out (thanks Koal), enjoyed painting two full days, had great weather and camping time with Elizabeth! . . .  painting is 16" x 40" oil on canvas, framed  $800.

Pharsalia, Tyro, Virginia

Was thrilled to paint at Pharsalia last weekend to help celebrate their Bicentennial, the 1814 plantation, home of William Massie. This is the view of Three Ridges, right from their front lawn. 12" x 36" oil on canvas framed $475.

Sleep Bear Dunes National Shoreline, Michagan

This is a commission for a couple who live in Virginia but visit Glen Arbor in the summer time. They asked me to paint this scene once they heard I have relatives who live there and had painted Sleeping Bear Dunes a few summers ago. It was fun to take me back to this wonderful beach. Bucks Elbow, Crozet

Went back up this afternoon to finish this painting that I started earlier this week, it's way up on the mountain behind our house on private property looking east to White Hall. What was interesting is the trees up top are not leafing out yet but I could see the mountains below with the beginning of the spring green creeping up the mountains. Small Plein Air Paintings

All painted this past week or so and all plein air! Chile's Peach Orchard is in full bloom right now and I am headed out shortly to start a new one. Some of these aren't framed yet but will be soon, let me know if you are interested in one!

March Field in White Hall, Virginia

Fall on the Blue Ridge, Virginia
